Nathan Road 1950
In the early days, both sides of Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui were used as military areas or barracks, and other parts of the land were used for foreigners to build European-style garden houses. At that time, not many people were willing to move from Hong Kong Island to live there. After World War II, the number of residents increased, and foreign businessmen invested in land to build buildings in Tsim Sha Tsui. Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui has a European architectural style.
After the government's vigorous development, shops, restaurants and theaters have sprung up, becoming a prime location in Kowloon, more prosperous than Shanghai Street. Today, many people only say that Nathan Road is a shopping avenue, but if you pay attention, there are still historical buildings of different ages on both sides of the street, witnessing the golden years of Nathan Road.
