Wikipedia
"Zeng Guang Xian Wen", also known as "Xian Wen in the Past" and "Xian Wen in Ancient and Modern", is a collection of ancient precepts and folk proverbs. Its content is a collection of various proverbs about dealing with people, which is very philosophical and reflects all aspects of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. It is said that "I can speak after reading Augmentation, and I will go to the world after studying at a young age."
The title of the book was first seen in the opera "Peony Pavilion" during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and it can be inferred that this book was written during the Wanli period at the latest. Later, after continuous additions by literati in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was changed to its current appearance. The author has never seen any books, only knows that Zhou Xitao, a Confucian scholar in the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, had re-edited it, which is probably the result of folk creation.
